SOME OF ITS CHARACTERISTICS

The males have a shiny black plumage on the back, a dark brown belly. The bill and throat membrane are bright red. Females are light brown in color, with black bars. Males can weigh 1.65 to 1.78 pounds and females 1.9 to 2.2 pounds. It feeds mainly on fruits, green leaves and sometimes insects. They can feed on small vertebrates such as rodents and salamanders. They are birds of diurnal habits, both arboreal and terrestrial.

SOME OF ITS CHARACTERISTICS

 They are characterized by presenting a brownish gray color above, with a paler gray breast. The rest of the lower region is buffy white barred with greyish on the chest and paler further back. The undertail-coverts are white and the primaries largely reddish with barred and black tips. The iris is light yellow and the wax and legs are yellow. It can measure approximately 35 cm and weigh 295 gm. Its diet is based on insects, small mammals and small reptiles.

SOME OF ITS CHARACTERISTICS

It is one of the largest parrots in Guatemala and America, weighing up to 1.54 pounds. The color of its feathers is predominantly green, with a whitish tone on the back and nape, pretending to be spread like flour (reason that justifies its name), it has a blue crown and the wings have blue and red feathers. It inhabits humid and semi-humid forests, mangroves and tropical jungles. It feeds on a diversity of fruits, tree shoots and seeds.
