Carnivorous mammal with arboreal habits. It has dense and short fur of brown and yellowish color towards the ventral of the body, with a darker head and tail. It has a long and prehensile tail that is used to climb trees. It is medium in size with an elongated body and short legs, weighing from 4.4 to 11 pounds. It is a nocturnal animal that inhabits tropical forests, most of the time in the treetops. It feeds on fruits, flowers, insects, eggs, and leaves.

A rodent mammal with nocturnal and solitary habits, it can reach between 15.4 and 22 pounds of body weight. Its coat is smooth brown with four stripes of white dots on each side of the body.
